Explanation: Born 1843 (Tenpo 14). From Chōshū Domain. Final title was baron. Birth father was Yoshida Jisuke, retainer to the clan of Yoshiki Mōri. Later adopted as the son-in-law of Utsumi Kamenoshin. Served with such private troop units as the Sentoku-tai and the Yoshiki-tai. 1868: Official, Hyōgo Prefecture. 1870: Senior Councilor, Hyōgo Prefecture. Later that year, Senior Councilor, Kanagawa Prefecture. 1871: Accompanies the Iwakura Mission. 1873: Returned to Japan.
