- The Yamaguchi University Library was established in conjunction with the founding in 1949 of Yamaguchi University as a national institution under the new postwar education system. As the university's basic facility for scholarly information, it provides support for study, instruction, and research. The Library collects, maintains, and provides scholarly information, and also makes available the results of research produced on campus. Furthermore, it is also moving forward with digitalizing valuable scholarly records. Among the valuable records being digitalized are such groupings of materials as the "Modern and Contemporary East Asian Records" collection that was accumulated at Yamaguchi Higher Commercial School, the predecessor to the university's Faculty of Economics. Records such as these are gradually being released for wider use in instruction and research through the "Digital Collection of Valuable Records" digital archive available through the Library's website at <a href="https://knowledge.lib.yamaguchi-u.ac.jp/rb"target="_blank">https://knowledge.lib.yamaguchi-u.ac.jp/rb</a>.
