- ウイッテ伯備忘録中一八九六年ノ露清密約締結ノ経緯ヲ説明セル一節（佛訳ニ依ル） 李鴻章トノ数次ノ会合ニ於テ、余ハ露国カ最近支那ニ対シテ為シタル貢献ノ少カラサルコトヲ力説シ、又既ニ宣明セル支那ノ領土保全ノ主義ハ将来ニ於テモ恪守スヘシトノ意向ヲ示シタ。啻之カ為メニハ露国ハ戦争ニ際シ其ノ軍隊ヲ派シテ支那ヲ援助シ得ル地位ニ置カレナケレハナラヌ、而シテ露国軍隊ハ欧露ニ集中シテ居ルカラ、欧露及浦塩斯徳ヲ鉄道ニ依リテ支那ニ連結スルニアラサレハ右支那援助ハ不可能テアルト説イタ。尚彼ノ注意ヲ惹ク為メニ余ハ露国カ日清戦争ノ際浦塩斯徳駐屯兵ヲ派遣シタトコロカ鉄道カナイ為メ行軍捗ラス、其ノ吉林ニ到着セルトキハ戦争ハ既ニ終了シテ居ツタ事実ヲ説明シタ。
