- 日本側対案 昭和十六年五月十二日附野村大使宛電報? 両国了解（案） 日本国政府及米国政府ハ両国間ノ伝統的友好関係ノ回復ヲ目的トスル全般的協定ヲ交渉シ且之ヲ締結センカ為茲ニ共同ノ責任ヲ受諾ス 両国政府ハ両国国交ノ最近ノ疎隔ノ原因ニ付テハ特ニ之ヲ諭議スルコトスク両国民間ノ友好的感情ヲ悪化スルニ至リタル事件ノ再発ヲ防止シ其ノ不測ノ発展ヲ制止スルコトヲ衷心ヨリ希望ス 両国共同ノ努力ニ依リ太平洋ニ道義ニ基ク平和ヲ樹立シ両国間ノ懇切ナル友好的了解ヲ速ニ完成スルコトニ依リ文明ヲ覆没セントスル悲シムヘキ混乱ノ脅威ヲ一掃センコト若シ其ノ不可能ナルニ於テハ速ニ之ヲ拡大セシメサランコトハ両国政府ノ切実ニ希望スル所ナリトス
