- 外務大臣伯爵陸奥宗光 依願免本官 文部大臣従二位勲一等侯爵西園寺公望 兼任外務大臣 右勅旨ヲ奉シ謹テ奏ス 明治二十九年五月三十日 臣宗光乏ヲ外務ノ重任ニ承ケシ以来茲ニ自ラ樗檪ノ材ヲ量ラス奮勉努力以テ窃ニ聖明ノ知遇ニ奉箚センコトヲ期セシモ未タ涓埃ノ功ヲ効スコト能ハス是レ実ニ夙夜惶悚シテ措カサル所ナリ曩ニ清国盟ヲ＠ヘ陛下大ニ師ヲ興シテ其罪ヲ問ヒ給ヒ皇師連戦連捷ノ後清国遂ニ使臣ヲ派シ和ヲ乞フニ当リ臣恭ク勅命ヲ奉シテ之ト下ノ関ニ会商又不幸ニシテ偶ニ疾病ニ罹リタルモ時幾切＠ノ際重大ノ責任ヲ荷＠固ヨリ一身死生ヲ顧ミルノ秋ニ非サルヲ以テ疾ヲ力メテ事ニ従ヒ 陛下ノ威徳ニ頼リ幸ニ事局ヲ全クスルヲ見ルヲ待タリ爾来体気衰弱
