Explanation: Born 1849. From Hiroshima Domain. Final rank was army lieutenant general. 1868: Sent to study in France by domain order. 1871: Met up with the Iwakura Mission while attending councilor of Ministry of War. 1875: Returned to Japan to serve as Army Ministry official 7th class and as instructor at the Imperial Japanese Army Academy. 1881: Appointed artillery inspector, Osaka Artillery Arsenal. Later that year, sent to Europe to research ordnance technology. 1882: Returned to Japan. 1885: Appointed Artillery Bureau official and member of artillery committee. 1886: Accompanied Koyata Torio to Europe. 1887: Returned to Japan. 1888: Appointed artillery officer in First Army Group. 1889: Appointed director of the Fortress Artillery Executive Training Center. 1890: Appointed to Osaka Artillery Arsenal. 1900: Sent to Europe and returned to Japan later that year. 1904: Passed away.
