Explanation: Born 1841 (Tenpo 12). From Tokuyama Domain. Father was domainal retainer Ōno Atsunao. Studied at the Tokuyama domain school Kōjōkan and the Chōshū domain school Meirinkan. 1865 (Keiō 1): Commander (Sōkan), Yamazakitai. 1868: Travelled to Britain as aide to Mōri Motoisa and studied economics. 1872: Met up with the Iwakura Mission attending the Ministry of Finance councilor. 1873: Returned to Japan. Appointed 7th grade official in the Bureau of Taxation, followed by appointment as 7th grade official in the Mint Bureau. 1874: Deputy assistant for mints (Zōhei gonsuke). 1877: Appointed Secretary, Ministry of Finance, working in the Mint Bureau. 1880: Deputy Director, Mint Bureau. Followed by Deputy Chief Secretary, Ministry of Finance. 1881: Director, Mint Bureau. 1882: Councilor, Legislative Programs Bureau (Gi'ankyoku). 1885: Director, Deposits Bureau, concurrent with appointment to the Mint Bureau. 1888: Concurrent appointment as Director, Banks Bureau. 1889: Director, Board of Audit; Manager, 3rd Division; and Ordinary Civil Service Examination Commission. 1899: Manager, 4th Division. 1921: Passed away. Father of Ōno Morie.
