公信第一七〇號 大正十四年八月七日 シムラ滞在中 総領事岩手嘉雄 外務大臣男爵幣原喜重郎殿 英領印度ニ於ケル外國人ノ土地所有権ニ関ケル件 本件ニ関シ三月二十六日附條二普通合第一四二號貴信ヲ以テ報告方御訓令ニ接シタルニ付右ハ貴信接受后早速印度政府ヘ及照令置キタル処此程回答ニ接シタルモ明哲ヲ決ク所アリ依テ本日教育衛生土地省(Education. Health and Lands Department)次官「バジユパイ」氏ヲ往訪ノ上問質シタル処同官ノ答フル所ニ依レハ英領印度ニ於テハ (一)土地所有権ニ関シ内外人間ニ何後ノ差別ヲ認メス從テ外國人ノ土地所有ニ関スル何等ノ禁止的法規現存セス但土地所有権ノ転移等ニ関スル細則ニ至リテハ各地方政府ニ依リ之ヲ異ニスル点アルモ之又内外人一般ニ均シク適用セラル
