在ホノルヘ 総領事館報告 公第一六七号 明治四十四年七月十日 在ホノルヘ 総領事上野専一 外務大臣侯爵小村寿太郎殿 布哇産果物ニ侵蝕セル害虫ニ関スル件 布哇ニ産出スル果物類ニ近来「メヂテラニアン、フルート、フライ」(mechtesanean tiuit tey学名)Cesatatio cekitataト称スル害虫侵蝕セルカ為メ風梨及蕉実ヲ除クノ外一般布哇産果物類ヲ「カリフオルニア」州ニ移入スルコトラ禁止シタル件ニ関シテハ客月十六日付公第一五四号ヲ以テ及具報置候処其後当地当業者ハ大ニ恐慌ヲ起シ当地ニ於ケル合衆国農事試験場ト協力シテ専ラ之カ駆除方法ニ関シ攻究ヲ重示居リ候得共来日有効ナル艾除法ヲ発見
