今次衆議院議員の総選挙をして真に新日本の建設を推進するに相応はしき厳正清新なるものたらしむる為、政府は一月四日附連合国最高司令部の指令に基き鋭意議員候補者たるべき者の資格の事前審査を進めているが、之に附連合国最高司令部と緊密且完全なる連絡を遂げると共に総選挙期日公布の期日迄に必ず確認書を本人に交付する為に曩に総選挙施行の予定期日は三月三十一日と発表したのであるが、之を十日間延長し四月十日に施行することに決定した。従って総選挙期日の公布は三月十一日となる見込で、三月五日迄に内務省より関係地方長官に確認書が交付せられることにならう。
